Major General Kinfe Dagnew Released from Prison

Haftom Kesete and Associates Law Office (HLO) is pleased to announce the release of Major General Kinfe Dagnew, the former Director General of the state-owned Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC). After an extensive legal battle spanning over 5 years and 4 months, Major General Kinfe has been exonerated.

In November 2018, Major General Kinfe was suspected of involvement in procedural irregularities related to procurement activities amounting to US 2 billion dollars or 37 billion birr. The allegations cast a shadow over his reputation and career.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Justice made a significant announcement: all charges against Major General Kinfe have been dropped.
